The statistical tolerance analysis is carried out by the software tool VisVSA (Siemens PLM) that works independently of the CAD-system on basis of neutral data in STEP format. The target of the functional control and tolerance optimisation takes centre stage.

The process of teh systematic stackup is oriented at the method DMAIC (define, measure, analyse, improve, control) which is established in the process optimisation.

Each analysis starts with the definition of the task described by the functional measurement to control the product. The functional measurement is defined by the specified limits including the statistical parameter such as process capability, mean, standard deviation.
